Marie Battaglia

Founder and CEO

Marie Battaglia, President and Founder of Battaglia & Associates, has over 35 years of full-time experience securing funding for schools, non-profit youth and human service agencies, community-based education organizations, agencies serving the homeless, arts and cultural organizations, healthcare providers, and other agencies across New York State. Her commitment to services for youth was recognized by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns, who named her to the agency’s Wall of Fame in 2018, and by Niagara Falls City School District, which presented her with the Golden Apple Award in 2005. Marie volunteers as a mentor to entrepreneurs and non-profit leaders through the University at Buffalo, Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership program.


Thomas M. Savini

Tom Savini received his Bachelor of Arts in History at Buffalo State College in 1988. He worked as a drug prevention specialist in Erie County from 1988-1992, and in Cattaraugus County from 1992-1999. He completed his Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at SUNY Empire State College in 1999, and became the Director of the Chancellor Robert R Livingston Masonic Library of Grand Lodge, NYC, NY in January 2000. Tom returned to Buffalo in August 2015 and joined Battaglia and Associates as a researcher and writer in October 2015, applying his 28 years of experience in the non-profit world to the mission of bringing great programs and services together with the resources dedicating to making them happen.

Renee Melton

Renee has been with Battaglia & Associates since February 2022, where she works at both ends of the grant process—writing proposals and assisting clients with data collection and report composition. Renee Melton’s fascination with the written word is lifelong, as evidenced by her B.A. in English/Creative Writing, received in 2013 from SUNY Potsdam. From 2015-2017, she served as an English as a Foreign Language Teacher through the U.S. Peace Corps in Mongolia. Renee took this youth development experience to ACCESS of WNY in Lackawanna, NY, where she worked as Youth Programs Coordinator and Grant Writer from 2018-2020. In August 2022, Renee completed her Masters in Public Administration (Nonprofit Track) through Buffalo State College. She enjoys using her talents to help organizations fulfill their missions and strengthen the communities they serve.
